Short answer: the best ACL after-party plan is one you choose before you enter Zilker Park. Festival gates close at 10 p.m., streets and rideshare zones are crowded, and several official late-night shows begin at 9 or 10 p.m. Pick one venue, buy the separate show ticket, save the address offline, and decide how you will leave the park before cell service gets busy.
Best downtown plan
Claire Rosinkranz at 3TEN or Don West at Antone's. Both work well if you take the festival shuttle toward Seaholm and continue downtown.
Best dance plan
BUNT. on Friday or Holy Priest on Saturday and Sunday at The Concourse Project. Arrange the ride before leaving Zilker; the venue is not downtown.
Best live-band plan
Rodrigo y Gabriela at Emo's on Friday. It is southeast of downtown, so leave enough time for festival exit traffic.
Best no-ticket fallback
Choose one walkable district such as Red River, East Austin, or South Congress and stay within that area instead of bouncing across town.
ACL after parties and late-night shows for Weekend Two
These are the strongest verified festival-week options currently on sale. “Official” below means the event or venue markets the show as an ACL Fest Night. A festival wristband does not replace the separate venue ticket.
| Date | Show | Time | Venue | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thursday, Oct. 8 | Łaszewo | 9 p.m. | 3TEN at ACL Live | Downtown kickoff before Weekend Two. Easy to pair with dinner around 2nd Street or Seaholm. |
| Thursday, Oct. 8 | World Famous Pets with Elijah Delgado | 8 p.m. | Antone's | Downtown. Verify the current age rule on the ticket before buying. |
| Thursday, Oct. 8 | Yousuke Yukimatsu | 9 p.m. | The Concourse Project | 18+. Far southeast Austin; plan a dedicated ride rather than treating this as a downtown stop. |
| Friday, Oct. 9 | Noga Erez | 7 p.m. | Scoot Inn | This starts before ACL ends. It only works if you intentionally leave Zilker early. |
| Friday, Oct. 9 | Rodrigo y Gabriela | 9 p.m. | Emo's | Also requires an early exit. Emo's is on East Riverside, not within the downtown club cluster. |
| Friday, Oct. 9 | BUNT. with DJ Bad Apple | 9 p.m.-2 a.m. | The Concourse Project | 18+. Best fit for a full dance-night plan. Listed ticket range was $65-$80 when checked. |
| Saturday, Oct. 10 | Claire Rosinkranz with Abby Powledge | 9 p.m. | 3TEN at ACL Live | Downtown and close to the official shuttle drop area, but the 9 p.m. showtime still calls for an early festival exit. |
| Saturday, Oct. 10 | Don West | 10 p.m. | Antone's | The most practical official option if you want to stay for most of the festival headliner, though exit travel still takes time. |
| Saturday, Oct. 10 | Holy Priest, Night 1 | 9 p.m. | The Concourse Project | 21+. Listed ticket range was $50-$75 when checked. Arrange transportation in advance. |
| Sunday, Oct. 11 | Holy Priest, Night 2 | 9 p.m. | The Concourse Project | 18+. Listed ticket range was $45-$75 when checked. This is the clearest late-night option after the final festival day. |
One timing reality: a 9 p.m. venue show is not a true “after” party if you plan to watch the last ACL set. It is an alternate evening plan. For a 10 p.m. show, leaving Zilker around 8:30-9 p.m. is still safer than assuming you can walk out at closing and cross Austin instantly.
How to choose the right after-party
For electronic music and a late finish
The Concourse Project has the most club-like Weekend Two schedule: Yousuke Yukimatsu on Thursday, BUNT. on Friday, then Holy Priest on Saturday and Sunday. It is at 8509 Burleson Road, well southeast of downtown. Do not take the downtown shuttle and assume the venue is nearby. Reserve a rideshare pickup away from the Zilker gate, use a group vehicle, or return to your hotel and depart from there.
For an intimate downtown show
3TEN and Antone's are the cleanest choices for visitors staying downtown. 3TEN is at 310 West Willie Nelson Boulevard by ACL Live. Antone's is at 305 East 5th Street. The official shuttle's downtown endpoint around Sand Beach Park and Seaholm puts you on the correct side of downtown for 3TEN; Antone's requires another walk or short ride east.
For guitar-forward live music
Rodrigo y Gabriela at Emo's is the standout Friday option, but the 9 p.m. start means leaving ACL early. If you want to keep your night spontaneous instead, the Red River Cultural District, East 6th and South Congress all have clusters of venues where you can check the live calendar and choose one neighborhood.
For a group that cares more about staying together
A party bus or private group vehicle can be worth more than another ticket when eight or more people are trying to coordinate. Use it as transportation, not as a promise that curb access at Zilker will be simple. Pick a legal meeting point outside the immediate closure area and send the same pin to everyone before the festival.
Getting from Zilker Park to Austin nightlife
ACL's published hours for Weekend Two are noon to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. At closing, tens of thousands of people are moving toward the same bridges, shuttle line, buses, bikes and rideshare zones. Your map may say a venue is ten minutes away; your actual door-to-door trip can be much longer.
- Choose the show first. Save the venue name, full address, ticket barcode and age restriction as screenshots.
- Set a leave time. Work backward from the venue's door or show time. Include at least 30-45 minutes just to exit the festival and reach a pickup point; add more for a southeast venue.
- Pick one meeting point. Cell service can be unreliable. Do not use “near the exit” as the group plan.
- Use the official shuttle strategically. The free shuttle between the festival and Sand Beach Park is useful for downtown, Seaholm, 2nd Street and ACL Live. It is not a direct route to Emo's or The Concourse Project.
- Expect surge pricing. Walking farther from Zilker before requesting a ride may improve pickup reliability, but stay on lit, open routes and follow current festival directions.
Best nightlife districts if you do not have a ticket
Red River Cultural District
Best for venue-hopping and live music. Mohawk, Stubb's, Empire and smaller rooms are concentrated near Red River, but capacity changes quickly during ACL. Check each venue's own calendar and cover charge before joining a line.
East Austin
Best for groups that want bars, patios and music without committing to one arena-sized show. Focus on a small section of East 6th or the area around one confirmed venue. Crossing downtown repeatedly will eat the night.
Downtown and 2nd Street
Best for the easiest transition from the official shuttle, especially for 3TEN, ACL Live, Antone's and nearby cocktail bars. Reservations are useful for a sit-down reset before a late show.
South Congress and South Lamar
Best for a calmer post-festival meal or drink. These areas make sense when the group is tired, does not have a show ticket, and would rather avoid another packed concert room.
Three after-ACL plans that actually work
The full-headliner plan
Stay at ACL until close, accept that you may not reach a venue until 11 p.m. or later, and choose a club night or district rather than a 9 p.m. concert. Eat before the final set and have the transportation plan saved.
The official-show plan
Leave Zilker early, usually between 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. depending on the venue. Skip the final headliner, go directly to the show, and treat the late-night set as the main event. This is the right trade when the artist is a must-see.
The group-night plan
Reserve transportation, select one district or one venue, and create one group chat message with the leave time, meeting pin, ticket links and final drop-off. The goal is to avoid six separate rideshare decisions after a ten-hour festival day.
Tickets, age limits and venue rules
- Buy from the official venue or ticketing link. Screenshots of social posts and resale messages are not proof of a valid ticket.
- ACL admission and the after-show are separate. Do not assume a festival wristband grants access or a discount.
- Check age restrictions show by show. The same venue can host an 18+ event one night and a 21+ event the next.
- Check the bag policy again. An item allowed into ACL may not be permitted by the nighttime venue.
- Do not count on coat or bag storage. Travel light, especially if you are going directly from Zilker.
- Screenshot the ticket. Venue entrances are a bad place to discover that the ticket app needs a password reset.
ACL after-party FAQ
Do I need an ACL wristband for an official ACL Fest Night?
Generally no. The late-night show is separately ticketed. Read the ticket page for the specific event because entry terms can vary.
Can I watch the ACL headliner and make a 9 p.m. show?
No, not realistically. The festival itself runs until 10 p.m., and leaving Zilker takes time. A 9 p.m. show requires leaving the festival early.
Which venue is easiest from the ACL shuttle?
3TEN at ACL Live is the most convenient verified option because it is near Seaholm and the downtown shuttle endpoint. Antone's is also downtown but farther east.
Which venue needs the most transportation planning?
The Concourse Project. It is in southeast Austin and is not part of a walkable downtown nightlife circuit.
Are there Sunday after parties?
Yes. Holy Priest's second night at The Concourse Project is scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at 9 p.m. Check the venue calendar for the latest ticket and age information.
Where should I check for changes?
Start with the official ACL Fest Nights page, then confirm the show on the venue's own calendar. For festival hours, transportation and gate updates, use the official ACL website and app.
