Known for Spanish restaurant El Raval in Austin and the award-winning Hawker 45 in Barcelona, Chef Bazahm draws from the culinary traditions of Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines at Siti, located at the Frances Modern Inn. The menu features housemade curry pastes, char-grilled meats, a push-cart of bold sambals to go around the room throughout service, fresh seafood, fragrant herbs, and comforting broths, all dishes that Bazahm grew up eating, but couldn't find locally in Austin. Chef Bazahm chose the name Siti, the honorable Malaysian word for "lady," to harken back to her childhood in the kitchen, spending her days cooking with her mother, grandmother, sister, and eight aunts.
