What this event is about

Join us for an evening of art, community, and resilience at The Lot on 12th as we celebrate the opening of Kalle Duncan's solo exhibition. About the Event Experience the debut of Amor Sin Miedo: Everything Is Changing, a multidisciplinary exhibition by Texas-native Chicana artist Kalle Duncan. Supported by Raasin in the Sun & the City of Austin, this opening night transforms East 12th Street into a vibrant hub of creativity, memory, and joy. This is FREE all ages event open to the public. Whether you are an art collector, a neighbor, or a lover of East Austin culture, come through to celebrate love as an ever-evolving force. The Experience Original Art: Be the first to view Duncan’s latest paintings and sculptures exploring themes of transformation and collective history. Vendor Market: Shop a curated selection of local Austin creators (Vendors TBA). Live Music: Sets by local DJs to keep the energy high all night. Art Making Stations: Tap into your own creativity with free, hands-on art activities. Refreshments: Enjoy free food and drinks while you mingle (while supplies last!). Exhibition Statement Amor Sin Miedo: Everything Is Changing reflects on love as a force shaped by loss, memory, and transformation. Drawing from personal loss and the erosion of cultural landmarks through gentrification, Duncan explores how love persists amid the displacement of Black and Brown communities in South Central Texas. Grounded in the landscapes of her youth, the work honors the spaces and people central to our collective histories. The exhibition calls for loving without fear of loss, celebrating remembrance as an act of resistance.
