Event overview

What this event is about

Texas Water Foundation is proud to present our 11th Annual, Water Texas Film Festival! The Water, Texas Film Festival invites emerging filmmakers from across the state to share and celebrate what water means to them. From creative narrative pieces to engaging documentaries, our filmmakers create innovative works on the topic of Water and Texas - that's it. Our finalists are selected by award winning director and Texas native, Richard Linklater for the chance to win in one of four categories: Under 18, Documentary, Narrative/Art, and Film about a Water Organization. Additionally, this year, we are honored to showcase the premiere of Hope for the Guadalupe with a Q+A discussion from its creators, Ben Masters and Fin and Fur Films. From the creators of Deep in the Heart, Hope for the Guadalupe tells the story of Hill Country community members, nonprofits, scientists, and other volunteers coming together to restore the river's ecology. Join us on May 12th to enjoy a drink, enter for the chance to win one of our door prizes, and see some amazing films. Film lovers, water advocates, conservationists, and Texas enthusiasts will all find something to be inspired by at the 11th Annual Water, Texas Film Festival. Door Prizes at the 11th Annual Water, Texas Film Festival include: - 2 General Admissions tickets to Jimmy Eat World at the Moody Amphitheater - A Private Glass Bottom Boat Tour at The Meadows Center for Water and The Environment - Chiso's Handcrafted Cowhide Cowboy Boots - Patagonia Gear
