DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of bold\, original films from Black Texas filmmakers\, curated by the Black Auteur Film Festival (BAFF). We’re also excited to welcome Jason Perez\, director of the documentary "High Horse: The Black Cowboy" (executive produced by Jordan Peele's Monkeypaw Productions)\, who will be in attendance for a special screening and talkback. After the event\, stick around for a networking mixer in the AFS Cinema lobby for an opportunity to connect\, build community\, and celebrate black film. ABOUT THE BLACK AUTEUR FILM FESTIVAL Founded by filmmakers Alex Chew and Ryan Darbonne\, BAFF is a nonprofit dedicated to championing Black voices in cinema. Through year-round programming and its annual festival\, BAFF creates space for stories that challenge\, expand\, and redefine the Black experience. While welcoming all audiences\, the festival centers Black communities and filmmakers\, celebrating the full breadth of the diaspora and fostering meaningful dialogue through film.
